FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: HARVESTORE INTRODUCES NEW XL 200 UNLOADER MADISON, Wisconsin (October 4, 2007) --- Engineered Storage Products Company has a new, faster and more powerful Harvestore unloader that is completely redesigned for higher performance and lower maintenance. The new XL 200 replaces previous Goliath and Alliance unloaders in existing Harvestore structures and adds to its XL unloader line, says Dick Nelles, Ag Sales Manager for Engineered Storage Products Company, and manufacturer of Harvestore. The announcement was made at the 2007 World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin. “The Harvestore XL 200 has a 25 horsepower variable speed direct drive compared to a 10 horsepower belt drive used in previous unloaders,” Nelles explains. “The XL 200 is smaller than our Harvestore XL 400 unloader that we introduced last year, so it fits into all existing Harvestore troughs too small for the XL 400. “The additional horsepower gives the XL 200 a cutter chain running force of 4,900 lbs versus only 1,800 lbs for the Alliance,” he adds. “This allows us to have a more aggressive unloader. “Farmers can expect faster, more efficient delivery of their forages,” he continues. “The XL 200, because of its additional power, will always outperform older model unloaders.” The Harvestore XL 200 has an automatic direct drive arm and the same innovative features, higher performance and lower maintenance as the XL 400. The XL series unloaders feature significantly more chain and arm force capacity. This is due to new technology built into the control box. The control box powers a 25 horsepower, 3-phase motor that will operate on a 1-phase or 3-phase power source. The XL unloaders feature low, high and four intermediate variable speeds from which to choose, which can be changed as the unloader is running to deliver feedstuffs fast and uniformly. Their main drive and arm drive systems use separate motors and controls in a patent pending system. “Most importantly, we have improved the chain strength and design,” Nelles adds. The cutter and conveyor chain break strengths are rated at 49,000 lbs each, compared to 40,000 lbs and 30,000 lbs for the Alliance. The XL 200 also features a Load Sensing System to monitor and react to cutter arm loads, a ‘soft start’ system which eliminates shock loading. The automated design optimizes cutter arm operation. A load cell is mounted on the arm drive gearbox and monitors the force required to drive the arm. The control system reads the information, and signals the control to advance the arm under light loads or hold the arm under heavy loads to convey out the feed, making the XL 200 virtually automatic. Harvestore owners who would like more information on the XL 200 unloader should contact their local dealer for a demonstration, or call Engineered Storage Products Company at 815-756-1551. --end-- |
